A yellow, black, orange, and brown contemporary abstract art piece with gold markings and oil pastel writing. This is one of three abstract artworks I created just before immigrating to Dubai—a time marked by both excitement and grief as I prepared to leave my hometown. It is also part of my very first series of abstract artworks, symbolizing my transition from portraiture to abstract art. The phrase ‘Stand Tall, Fly High’ was written an hour before my flight, making this the final artwork I created in South Africa.
