Artist Biography
Mické Buitendag, born in 1995 in Cape Town, South Africa, is a self-taught artist whose journey into art began shortly after graduating with a business degree. Initially drawn to painting as a form of therapy and reflection, her work has since evolved into a powerful means of self-expression and personal exploration. Mické’s style blends contemporary and abstract art, using mixed media to convey expressive energy and emotion in each piece.
Her art delves into themes of femininity, identity, and personal growth, offering a unique and intimate portrayal of the human experience. Produced on high-gloss acrylic surfaces, Mické’s works feature layers of depth, inviting viewers to engage in deep introspection. Since beginning her career in 2018, her pieces have been showcased in numerous successful group exhibitions, and her work has garnered international recognition.
